Make Your Own Ruler Carry-All Bag


Do you have rulers in every size and shape with nowhere organized to put them? Come make your own solution! Using the Bella Nonna No. 156 pattern, you'll sew a bag big enough to hold your extra large rulers, Stripology ruler, and an 18"×24" cutting mat. Plus this pattern has instruction for making dedicated pockets sized perfectly for a 6.5"×24" ruler and a 2.5" square ruler. Joan will share her best tips and tricks for making this bag come together beautifully and easily!
Class Prep:
Purchase the Pocket Full of Rulers pattern.
Prepare fabric and interface pieces per pattern instructions. Preparing these pieces prior to class will allow plenty of class time to complete the tote with Joan!
Fabric Requirements:
Fabric strips for bag, front & back: 25-30 strips (1.5" - 4" x 22")
Pockets (front outside): 3 coordinating quarter yards
Lining for bag (and inside pockets): 1 - 2/3 yards
Permanent Press Muslin: 3/4 yard
Fusible Interfacing (40" wide): 2 yards (Decor Bond)
1" webbing: 4 yards
Batting: 3/4 yards
Binding: 1/3 yard

| Skill Details: | You must be able to operate your sewing machine without assistance. Some understanding of quilting lingo would be helpful, but not absolutely necessary. |
| Requirements: | Sewing machine with walking foot, bag pattern (sold at Box Car), and sewing accessories. With this pattern you can also use a jelly roll, if you'd like to do this please bring to class 20 strips sewn together along the long side. Bring any remaining strips just in case. Finished bag size is 21"x26" |
