Beginner's Guide to Quilting
Have you been curious about the art of quilting? Whether you've never made a quilt block, or just need a refresher on the basics, A Beginner's Guide to Quilting is the perfect place to start! This four-part series is designed to guide you step-by-step as you create your very first quilt, all while having fun and making new friends.
In this hands-on, beginner-friendly class, you’ll:
- Learn the tools of the trade: Get acquainted with the essential quilting tools. Joan will teach you how to use them efficiently for smooth, stress-free quilting.
- How to perfect the art of 1/4" seams: The secret to a beautiful quilt is perfect seams. Learn the importance of accurate 1/4" seams and how to achieve them consistently, setting you up for success in every project.
- Designing a quilt: Discover how to plan and design your quilt by arranging blocks in a way that’s visually appealing. Joan will walk you through basic quilt design techniques that bring your vision to life.
- How to finish a quilt: Learn the final steps to completing your quilt.
Class Details:
- Dates: Tuesdays. June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th
- Time: 5:30PM - 7:30PM
- Location: Box Car Quilts
- Cost: $25 per session. $100 for the entire 4-part series.
- Skill Level: Beginner (no prior quilting experience required, somewhat familiar with their sewing machine)
- Materials: A supply list will be provided upon registration. Our shop has everything you’ll need, and our friendly staff is happy to assist in picking out fabrics and tools.
